Abstract

School is an institution that operates in the realm of education, education is an institution that has an important role in improving the quality of human resources. In improving the quality of human resources in the education sector, teachers play a dual role, namely as teachers and educators, which is one of the determining factors for educational success. As a teacher, the teacher is tasked with providing a number of learning materials to students. Meanwhile, as educators, teachers are tasked with guiding and developing students to become capable, active, creative and independent human beings. The type of research is field research which aims to conduct studies on the world of education. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method. The population and sample in this study were all state elementary school teaching staff (teachers) in Rantau Banyur District who had been certified, totaling 39 teachers. This research aims to find out how certification affects teacher performance.
